Simon Downham is the Vicar, or Senior Pastor, of St Pauls. Simon is married to Anna and they have three girls, Ellen, Kirstie and Bethany and a son, Joseph.
In addition to God and the four women in his life and baby Joe, Simon loves Carlisle United, art (particularly colourist painting), food, music and reading. He reads a lot. He would love to say that he loves running but that would be a lie. He hates traffic in Hammersmith, automatic telephone answering services and unreliable builders. Simon worked as a solicitor in the city of London specialising in International Corporate Finance, before studying theology and undergoing ministerial training at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. He worked for five years at Holy Trinity Brompton before leading a church plant to St Paul's in January of 2000.
Simon is a director of the St Pauls Theological Centre where he occasionally lectures in patristics, leadership and church planting and a trustee of St Mellitus College. He mentors young clergy and is an official reviewer for the Kensington Area ministerial review system.
Simon is a member of the London Diocesan Advisory Committee. He continues to study and is currently researching theological anthropology at Kings College London.
