Congregation Members Overseas

We'd like to introduce you here to various members of St Paul's who are currently involved in either long or short-term placements overseas.

Why not have a read to find out what they are up to, and also pray for them as they serve God in many different areas: missions, the arts, relief & development, capacity building in poor countries, mercy ministries...

Maybe you'd like to find out more about the work of Global Vision? Ever had a desire to go overseas and serve God in some capacity - short-term or maybe even for longer? If so, why not come to our next Global Vision Forum and find out more from some people who have done this. Alternatively you could also speak to Mark Powley at any time. We look forward to meeting you.

Holidays with a Purpose

The Global Vision team encourages people to use their summer holiday to do something special - Holidays With a Purpose! In recent years, various people have had opportunities to go travel abroad following the Holidays with a Purpose idea - which is all about using one's holidays constuctively while at the same time having a rest and lots of fun...

Members of St. Paul's have visited the following countries and served with a variety of NGOs & FBOs in recent times. If you'd ever like to know more about this concept, why not have a chat with someone from the Global Vision Team.

In Honduras with Mercy Ships; in the USA with YWAM ;in Brazil with Rainbow Farm, in Sri Lanka with Habitat for Humanity and someone else spent time in Russia.

Now Returned!

The following people have finished their work overseas. Let us give thanks to God for all that they were able to achieve while serving abroad and let us remember them in our prayers, as they now settle into new things, asking God that He would show them what plans He has for them.

Charlotte Johnston has returned from a year of English-teaching on the border of Ibaraki, Japan (near Tokyo). Please pray for Charlotte, that God would guide her plans as she looks to the future now.

Lucy Gardner finished her 1-year assignment as a Mental Health Officer with Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) in Gweru, Zimbabwe. Please pray for her as she seeks the Lord for what might be next...

Praying...

Please pray for everyone listed here: for those currently working abroad as well as those getting ready to set off.  Pray specifically:

- That their spiritual life may be maintained and strengthened

- That their personal relationships may be healthy and glorifying to Christ

- That they may find favor with all those they serve and with local authorities in the environments they are based in

- That God's Kingdom may grow through their obedience and faithful service

"The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."             James 5:16b (NIV)
