Youth

W6 Youthworks is a community-based youth initiative based at the St Paul’s Centre on Macbeth Street, Hammersmith. Our vision is to reach out, to serve and to bless young people from all backgrounds in the Hammersmith & Fulham area by running an ongoing program of courses and events for them.

By providing “somewhere to go and something to do” for groups of young people, we hope to create an alternative to the destructive environments that inner city youth often find themselves in. We hope that our Centre will be a place for them to feel at home where we can build strong relationships that encourage the young people to develop into well-balanced, confident and secure young adults. Beyond the St Paul’s Centre, W6 Youthworks aspires to also bless local schools in the area by offering support and assistance.

In recent times the project has enjoyed running a variety of different things for the local youth to get their teeth into, including an after-school club called the ‘O-Zone’. We have also successfully run Bike Maintenance Courses, the ‘SNAC Challenge’ in conjunction with local police, and some ‘Futsal’ sessions. We are always open to new ideas and much more is planned – watch this space…

The project was established by St Paul's Church in 2007 and is now run by the St Paul’s Centre. W6 Youthworks is 'faith based but not faith biased' and the team is committed to ensuring that the activities are accessible to as wide a group of young people as possible. The project was made possible by an initial grant from the Bishop of London Mission Fund and continues to rely on the generous support of trusts, businesses and individuals.
