The St Paul’s Internship Programme runs annually from September to August and is a chance for three people to gain a unique experience of life, faith and ministry in the workings of a central London church.
We recruit three interns in the ministry areas of Youth, Administration, and Children's Work. We give plenty of opportunity to experience first hand the ministry areas each intern is interested in and each intern has a set job description and is assigned a line manager and experienced practitioner from their particular ministry area. They are also invited to spend some of their time working in our cafe, bookshop and hospitality around site. Wider opportunities to experience the diversity of church life in London are encouraged and we provide a host family and spiritual mentor for each intern's pastoral care and development.
The interns are housed in nearby accommodation and each week spend one afternoon taking part in our Internship Leadership Development Programme. This is a comprehensive and in depth teaching and personal development programme run by both staff and lay members of ministries. Topics include: Cityshaping (the vision and values of St Paul's), Practicing God's Presence, Seeking justice in the city, Theology of Worship, MIssion and Technology, Spiritual Disciplines, Time Management, Vision to Action and coaching skills.
